Travel For overseas flights, by far the easiest airport to use is Manchester. From Manchester Airport there are regular direct trains to Sheffield, which take about an hour. Alternatively, you could fly into one of the London airports—Sheffield is 2 hours and 20 minutes by train from London St. Pancras. For European flights, you might also consider the Robin Hood Doncaster-Sheffield Airport, Leeds/Bradford Airport, and Birmingham Airport, even though Manchester remains the best option.
It is easy to get from the train station to the university. You can walk (see the map), you can get a tram (they are regular and cheap), or you can get a taxi (it will cost you around £5).
